I put new pads and rotors on my hyundai accent today. Had them pretty much done before i realized they were a little different. OEM has a V shaped spring to help keep the pads off the rotor. NAPA pads dont have the hole for the spring to fit in to. Is it a big deal to leave them off or should i take it back apart and get different pads? Or i guess i could drill some holes and fix it that way.
Those spring clips pull the brake pads back from the rotors when the brakes aren’t used.
Without them, the pads can rub against the rotors causing rapid wear and /or noise.

Take it back apart
Return those NAPA pads
They’re apparently incorrect for your application
Get your money back
Get a different set of brake pads
Don’t modify the brake system
