Siphoning gas

I’m trading in my '98 Chevy Suburban and don’t want to part with the $150’s worth of gasoline in it. How can I siphon it out? I tried, but can’t seem to get the small-guage hose all the way to the tank.

You don’t siphon it out. You pump it out.

First, you need to break into the fuel system to connect a hose. Before the fuel filter is easiest. Then locate the fuel pump relay and remove it. Insert a jumper wire across the secondary voltage terminals in the relay socket. This will run the fuel pump to fill containers from the hose you connected.
