I read your recent column stating that blinker lights seldom fail. However, one of mine on my 2005 Malibu Maxx fails about every 3 weeks. Also the front parking lights have melted the plastic housing and failed. They have not failed since they opened up a vent hole by melting the plastic. It is wired for towing using diodes to isolate the circuits. I have noticed other people towing have the plastic housing also melted. The dealer says he has never seen it, and it is not a problem so long as the lights work now.
Another subject. What is deal with all the Chevy pickups and the burned out parking lights? Almost everyone you see on the road has one out. A dealer told me they thought it was bad bulbs.
