Should I keep my 2001 Jeep Cherokee?

I have a jeep with 190,000 miles on it. Is it worth keeping? Should I just get a new engine? Or not…

We get these type questions all the time. If you feel the need to ask this, maybe in your mind a new car is already time and you are looking for confirmation.

Confirmed! Sell your Cherokee and buy something else.

The reason I say this is; Even IF the car is in wonderful shape, everything IN the car has 200K miles and 17 years on it. It isn’t worth a new engine. If it looks a bit tatty and needs paint and seatcovers and… and… and… the $$$ spend will just keep coming. From a financial standpoint, makes no sense.

Now if you have an emotional attachment to it… that’s another matter…

Sure, why not keep it? All of my vehicles are older than your Jeep and I don’t plan on giving them away.

Has the engine failed or do you just want to keep an extra engine in stock just in case you will need one?
