There is a mysterious double clicking sound that seems to come from the passenger side of the dashboard. It is not related to velocity or whether the car is turning, or stopping or starting. It occurs randomly about every 13-25 seconds. My wife is concerned it’s related to the air bag and is anxious about sitting in the passenger seat. Any ideas what it might be and how I can eliminate it?
The first step if possible is to locate the source of the click, easier if it does it at idle. If you can give us a description of the component the sound is coming from and the location that would be helpful.
Is you blower motor on low? You might have something in the fan compartment that hits the fan blades every now and then.
You might also check you glove box and behind the panel on the passengers side of the console, down near the foot.
