Can the regular 5/20 oil be used in the Focus engine, or do you need a premium or durablend oil?
Any brand 5W20 can be used. If I understand things correctly, basically all 5W20 is either a synthetic or semi-synthetic formulation anyway. You will always pay for for the full synthetic, but the semi-syn works fine, too.
