Replacing the Head Unit on 2002 Honda Civic EX Sedan

Hello,

So I just received a 2002 Honda Civic EX Sedan with the factory head unit, which sounds like crap and doesn’t have an auxiliary input, so I’m looking to replace it. However, I’ve read online in a couple places that my keyless entry and alarm are a part of the head unit, and I’ve been unable to corroborate this info in the manual. If that’s the case, is there another item or accessory I could buy to maintain the functionality of the factory alarm and keyless entry even with a new head unit? Thank you!

Replacing the factory speakers with aftermarket units will gain you a much greater improvement in sound. Don’t know what you could do about the aux input, though.

They will answer all of your questions.

I’d try replacing the speakers before spending money on a new head unit. I installed a set of Polk speakers in my '97 Acura (kept the factory head unit) and they made a world of difference.

There are plenty of adapters to provide an auxiliary input.

On amazon you can enter your car and It will match you with the best head unit.
You should also be looking at replacing your speakers as good stereo system is only as the speakers.

After 9 years I doubt if they even have the vehicle.

I had not seen the post was from 09’ lol
