I’m thinking of buying a 95 Legacy with a gas tank seam leak. Anyone ever replace the tank in one of these? Its in NY, so its rusty… not sure how rusty. I expect to be breaking some bolts at least.
Is it hard to find a tank for one of these? The owner said something about it being hard to find a replacement.
OK… I did a little research, and apparently the tanks are hard to come by (here in the northeast) because of…RUST! Also, replacing them involves dropping the rear end… not completely, but enough to get access to the tank.
Has anyone replaced a tank in one of these? How difficult is this procedure?
