Rear Lift Gate repair

My Wife backed out of the garage with the rear lift gate still open and caught the handle of the garage door. This bent the gate about a half inch, so now the door closes, but will not latch. There is no other visible damage. Can the door be straightened, or does it have to be replaced.

You’ll need to have this evaluated by a body shop. Without at least photos it’s impossible to guess.

Agree. The Problem Is Most Likely With The Hinges Or Attachment Points. Whether Or Not They Can Be “Adjusted” {Bent Back) Or Need Replacement Can Best Be Assessed By A Bodyman.
