Rear end noise

I own a pontiac sunfire '00, and it makes a crackling noise in the rear end whenever I drive slowly, what could it be?

I would check the lug nuts and make sure they are tight. In addition…I would remove all the hubcaps (if you have any) and drive slowly through a parking lot and listen carefully. I once had a large GM vehicle that “crackled” when I drove through a long tunnel slowly on the way to work. I finally removed the hubcaps (big heavy ones) and the crackling went away. If the sound is still there…go see a good independent mechanic and have the problem checked out.

I took off the hub caps aand went for a Drive but the sounds still there, any other DIY solutions?

Jack up the rear and spin the wheels. Pull the wheels up down and sideways checking for play or noise.
