When you take out the battery, the radio no longer works unless you put in a code. The previous owner didn’t write his down anywhere and we can’t find it anywhere in the car. I have to pull the radio to get the serial number so Honda will give me the correct code. Is there a way to circumvent this? Or how easy is it to pull the radio? They charge $42 to pull it at the dealer.
i have never done it but if you buy haynes repair manual, in the body section, it tells you how to open up the dashboard, etc. the manual is about $20ish in pepboys, o’reilly, etc.
On most Hondas, you can use this method to get the serial number. With the radio off, keep the one and six preset buttons depressed, then press power. The serial number then is generated on the screen. You can also go to the Honda website and register with ownerlink, I think you can get the code that way as well.
Wow, that was fast. I’ll try it. Thanks
