How do you quote a previous poster so it links to them?
This web site doesn’t have that feature. The best you can do is copy and paste, then do something to indicate that you’ve done that and who said it - like: TireGuy says: “blah, blah, blah!”
And you can stick an @ at the front of their name to notify them. But that person then has to get to their ‘notifications’ section to clear the red flag. Used to be, if they read your post it cleared automatically.
What’s up with that, @cdaquila ?

This is what I do when necessary, although it’s a manual process and it doesn’t actually link.
@texases, @knfenimore, it’s true. One of the facets of the dearly departed old system that is most missed is the ability to quote a previous poster. We asked about it during the migration, but it is unfortunately not an option. The suggestion to use the @ as a Bat-signal of sorts is a good one.
@cdaquila - so I guess the ability to clear a notification by reading the thread is gone, too?
