Question on low beam bulbs 2013 Nissan Rogue

Hi all. I’m just trying to get some help and advice on replacing the passenger side low beam bulb that died.

I went to Auto Zone and was told that I needed a H11 bulb. So I bought one. But when I opened up the hood and went to remove the bulb, it doesn’t seem to match the H11 bulb that I bought.

Does my 2013 AWD Canadian Nissan Rogue use a different bulb other than the H11? If this is not the H11, which bulb is it?

Here is a pic of the back of the bulb while still connected to my vehicle.

Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

The owners manual will list what bulbs are used in your car. There may be more than one type of headlight bulb, because there may be more than one design of headlamp in a given make and model of car.

Right. The owners manual does list the H11 for the halogen bulb but also indicates there is a Xenon version.

The H11 is what I bought but the end of the H11 doesn’t look like the end of this bulb.Originally

Remove it and go back to the parts store to match it up.

edit - never mind, see posts below. Be careful.

That is a HID bulb in your picture (Xenon).

High voltage: headlights must be off when touching the connector.

As Nevada said, that is a HID bulb, and Nissan had a lot of issues with them, the dealers around my area pull the other side low beam bulb and swap it to the bad side to make sure it is only the bulb that is bad, if it still doesn’t work then you will be getting into much more money… meaning they are bad about the ballast going bad and some wiring issues…

From what my diy’er-self can tell the 2013 Rogue (as sold in the usa) could be configured with either halogen or xenon headlamps. These are not compatible technologies, so you have to choose the correct type of bulb for your particular configuration. For the lo beam, h11 for, halogen, d2s for xenon. As mentioned above, extreme caution is in order if your car uses the high intensity discharge (hid) system.
