For the requested car info, it wouldn’t need to necessarily be drop down boxes or anything of the kind. Just change the text next to (or underneath) the “Category” box to add a “Please include…so we have a chance at helping you.” line.
As for skomjathy’s disappearing login, he’s already told us: “I then navigated back a page” (back button, Alt-left arrow, whatever). His browser just used the cache, so it didn’t kow he was logged in. This happens to people all over the place, all the time. Nothing you can do.
