Problems with air conditioning

My a/c has been giving me problems for a while. It seems to come on and go off at random. By this I mean that it blows cold air for a while and then the air turns hot. I have a new sound today that seems to be associated with stopping the car. I turned the a/c off for a few miles and then tried again. It seemed to work OK after that until I got home. I just had the head gasket and a cracked head replaced and hoped that this would solve the problem, but it has not. Even my mechanic says that this car is possessed. Help! It’s too hot not to have a/c

If the A/C blows cold air that later turns hot, that seems to suggest that the system is low on refrigerant.
Has your mechanic checked for this fairly obvious possibility?
If not, you may need a new mechanic.

For A/C problems, a specialized A/C shop may be the best place to go–if it turns out to be more of a problem than just low refrigerant.

What year is this gem and how many miles does it have?

Nomatter, you need to have a shop that does automotive AC work look at it. You can’t fix this at home.

Sorry.
