The display unit on my 2008 Prius, that you adjust the heat setting, does not function properly. On a recent trip. my wife attached our GPS to the display. and it worked fine, a day later, I couldn’t adjust the heat controls. Would attaching the GPS cause this failure? I’ve been quoted a fix of 1.8K to repair the unit. Any other Ideas?

I would say the GPS attachment was a fluke.
As for a proper repair, I haven’t a clue at this time. I’m not up for the research that would require right now. Maybe someone else had some ideas. It sounds like it’s electrical, though, and removing it, ensuring the connections are tight, and putting it back together may fix it. May not, but it wouldn’t hurt anything to try.
