Power windows

driver window will not rollup

Thanks for letting us know.
Do you have any questions, and would you like to give us some more detail?

There are a lot of things that can cause it not to roll up. If you gave some more diagnostic info we might be able to narrow it down (e.g., can you grab the glass and lift it by hand? do you hear the window motor running or trying to run?)

HOWEVER, most of the possible causes require removing switch assembly and the inside door panel to fix. Are you going to do that yourself? If you just want to get an idea of what might be broken so that you can tell if the repair person is trying to rip you off, then a better approach is to find an honest, competent repair person. Look on the mechanix files on this site.

If you want to get an idea of what it will cost, we’d need more dignostic info, and even then we might not be able to figure it out. The honest repair person could help you here, too. BUT, the cost can’t be known for sure until the cause is found, and that might take some digging into the door; the repair person would deserve payment for diagnosis.

Remove the door’s inner panel, check for power at the motor when the switch is “up”, check the window physically to esnure that it isn’t binding, and post back.
