I have a 1997 Kia Sportage and am having issues with my power windows. They have been slowing down for years, which I assume is due to dirt and rust build up in the tracks. Recently my back windows seem to be able to go down but not up. Therefore they are stuck most of the way down. The front windows are working slowly as normal, but the rear windows wont work at all. Any suggestions? Should I just suck it up and take the doors apart and see if I can get directly to the window tracks to clean them out?
Spraying silicone on tracks then moving them up and down a time or too helps some put you problem is worse so yes door panel will have to come off.
After you get them fixed use spray once a month, it keeps them moving freelier and smoother
