What kinds of power steering leaks do products like Bar’s Leaks 1600 High Mileage Power Steering Fluid Repair or Rislone High Mileage Steering Stop Whine with Leak Repair 4604 Power Steering Fluid actually help with? Is it return host leaks, suction hose leaks, rack & pinion leaks, pump leaks, etc.?
I would say it MIGHT slightly swell flat and hardened seals, such as o-rings
It will NOT fix a chased or cut hose or seal

I dunno but I suspect it swells the seals. I had a pretty good leak in one car. Hoses seemed fine and tried some stop leak. Worked great. Not gonna fix a bad hose though.
Even if t works it’s only a short term fix. Swelling is the first step in dIssolving the rubber seals. Plan on replacing the seals before a year has elapsed.
Thanks much for all your feedback. Actually, all three hoses–suction, return, and high pressure are original. They have taken a beating in the Texas heat, and are all candidates for replacement.
