I am trying to change the power steering fluid in my 2006 Honda Odyssey. Do I need to bleed the system?
To flush the power steering system. place a pan below the power steering reservior and remove the low pressure return hose. Plug the nipple this hose was removed from. Fill the reservior with clean fluid. With the return hose pointing into the pan, have someone start the engine until the fluid in the reservior drops to the bottom and then shut the engine off. Refill the reservior and repeat this until the fluid going into the pan is clean. Reattach the hose and fill the system with clean power steering fluid.

Also make sure you use either Genuine Honda power steering fluid or an aftermarket power steering fluid which is specifically labelled for Honda’s. Using regular power steering fluid can cause damage to a Honda power steering system.
