I found out real quick you can’t edit them while waiting for approval, I’ve copy (& pasted) a few post I made, then deleted them, just to make a correction or add something else to it..
But you are right, we can no longer edit our post even after they have been approved… I hadn’t noticed that part yet…
I hope the EDIT button is returned to the Option Bar (Up vote, Link, Flag, Bookmark, and Reply…). After posting I always go back an reread my posting to ensure it formatted correctly and the Spellcheck, my Fat Fingers, etc… did not change what I wanted to post. Their There, you have my opinion…
Hi @davesmopar We had to turn off new sign ups while we figure out the best way to move forward. The bots were signing up at an unbelievable rate. Way too fast for us to handle, for the moment.
Thanks for your patience with us while we figure out the best way forward.
It wasn’t intended as a criticism although, after reflection, it could be read that way. Hence the statement about the fourth quadrant Appreciate all the effort going into this.
In looking at the html source, it also appears there has been an effort to eliminate the jumping from the ads but the file may not be working as anticipated. Thanks for that effort as well!
EDIT: This post went right through, I just made a post and it is waiting for approval right before this one… But I also have one as VDC does that is 14 hours old…
OK the post now waiting for approval has a pic in it, so not sure when it will be approved, but it showing what VDC is talking about…
Seems like normal post do not need approval as of some hours ago, But post with links, videos and or pictures are still requiring approval… And I have one that has not been approved from 15+ hours ago as well as VDC had mentioned having one left hang with the same time frame, not sure of the details of it though…
That must be about the time they updated the forum/system/whatever for no approval needed for the regulars at least…
Just saw I have one pending from 14 hours ago, you can also see the time stamp in my post…
No, I got the notice of “trust”–along with you and ~10 other forum members–several hours before that post. However, my post was subsequently approved, after–I think–about 16 hours.
Part you are missing, speed limits are adjusted, to some degree, by drivers. Eventually the “powers that be” will adjust limits up or down as necessary. If you are observant, you will notice 55 MPH is no longer the national speed limit. I have written this before, a 55MPH four lane road was widened to six lanes, when construction was completed, speed limit was lowered to 45MPH! Drivers did not stand for that, DOT then restored the 55 limit.
Fortunate DOTs usually do not lower speed limits without reason. There is a section of I-95 near me that for years had 60MPH signs in a two mile section for absolutely no reason. Number of vehicle that slowed to 60 in that zone—zero. The signs are gone, but I think GPS still shows 60MPH.
