I have a 1997 VW Passat TDI
with a 5 speed transmission.
At least 2-3 times a week when im driving the car while shifting gears, when i push the clutch in its stays in and doesnt release on its own. i have to pull it back up by hand or wiggle my foot under the pedal to pull it up.
is this a sign that the clutch needs to be replaced. Its not slipping it pulls stong on acceleration. iT doesnt grind while shifting gears and goes into gear easily and is not making any unusual noises.
If it is not low on fluid in the clutch’s reservoir, then you are probably due for a new clutch. If you don’t know where that reservoir is, look it up in the owner’s manual.
Thanks I will find the reservoir and look at the fluid level
I hope thats the problem. Thanks alot
