have a 2000 dodge caravan .itook it to get inspected and it failed code p0601 .i had the computer reset but code is still there. how can i fix this .
It is extremely rare for the engine computer to fail, but this is what that code indicates. It needs to be reprogrammed or replaced.
P0601=Internal Control Module Memory Check Sum Error.
This means the PCM needs to be replaced and programmed. No other choice.
But! You may fall under the EPA mandated warranty of 8 years/80,000 miles on computers and catalytic converters. Does your vehicle have less than 80,000 miles?
