Just bought a 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan with 111000 mi. The “ck eng” lite comes on. Scanned it to find code “PO601, internal control module memory ck sum error” Anyone know what that means and is it going to be a problem? Any help is appreciated !.
That’s a bad one. The computer module will have to be re-flashed or replaced.
It means when the computer goes through its self diagnostic test it comes up with an error. Doesn’t sound good to me.
Was the light coming on when you test drove the van? Did you get any sort of warranty?
Thanks for the replies, guys. No warranty, “as is” sale. The van runs perfectly, all systems work properly.
By “re-flash” do you mean re-programmed by the dealer? Or are there after-market repair shops for auto computers?
