i have a 92 cavalier (manual) and my park/emergency brake light comes on at random while i’m driving. it comes on and then after a few minutes it goes back off. it happens every time i drive it. i don’t know what is going on!
Check the fluid level in the brake master cylinder reservior. If it’s low, the brake light can come on randomly.

And if it is low, check your brakes. There’s a direct relationship between the two. As the brake pads become lower (thinner) so does the fluid in the reservoir.
if the other suggestions arent the problem, try this:
where is your ebrake lever? between the front seat? check under the lever for debris, pens, pencils, etc etc etc. just a small lift of the lever will turn on the light.
