what kind of shenanigans is involved in replacing the outside mirror on a 2001 VS jetta, entire door panel or just the top piece? There are three screws for the bottom panel and one for the top panel. Do you have to take the entire door panel off?
I don’t know about the Jetta, but it’s not uncommon to have to remove the inner door panel to access the lower nut(s) that hold the mirror assembly to the metal door frame. A Haynes manual should provide some definition, or a call to the dealer’s service department could also get you an answer.
I got it thanks. it wasn’t as hard as I thought and I did not have to remove the whole door panel, just the top part.
