my boyfriend says that most/all gm transmissions whine. i don’t agree. this is the only oldsmobile car in which i have been in and actually heard the transmission whine on take off until it shifts into the final drive gear. the only car i have ever been in in which there has been a whine was when my chrysler tranny was just rebuilt and needed to be done again because the torque converter was incorrectly put in.
