I purchased a new 2008 Outback last spring. Within a few weeks I noticed a whine coming from the transmission. It gets higher in pitch as I accelerate and then drops back down when the car shifts gears. The dealer has checked it out twice and told me that it’s fine. One tech said it was the emission valve, another said the noise was from a pump.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is it something I need to pursue?
Is this an automatic or a manual transmission?
How do you know that the noise is coming from the transmission?
