transmission comes out of gear and has a loud whirring sound when in reverse, but not every time. it has happened when driving at about 60 mph (twice) Sometimes it happens a couple times in a row sometimes it is ok for a couple weeks. not sure what to do, please help:)
I do not know if any other trans but an auto is possible but I will ask, auto or manual? Can you explain a bit better what you mean “comes out of gear” (this could be serious). Some noise in reverse is normal,let’s deal with the comming out of gear first. Can you post what engine also? How abould service records if this is an auto trans we are talking about.
And I will ask: How many miles on your transmission and how often have you changed the transmission fluid?
