When rushing blood products redightsiren to Montrose, I-70 traffic was crawling for miles due to an RV fire west of Eisenhower Tunnel.
Best to travel down the middle (between lanes one and two) and avoid shoulder debris.
In such situaltions, Colorado State Patrol closes the tunnel so no one is stopped inside.
Westbound traffic was directed over Loveland Pass. GPS indicated over 2 hour delay.
CSP dispatch is notified whenever the emergencyehicle is traveling emergently on State or Interstate highways. The EV was directed through the tunnel and chaos behind the fire.
I suspected as such. Thanks Nevada for clearing the air.
