Oil life indicator at 15% after oil change?

I got my '08 Civic oil changed about 300 miles ago, and I just got the oil life 15% indication.
Is this likely due to the indicator needing to be reset at the oil change, or does that happen automatically?

The oil life does not reset itself. Either the service tech or you need to do it after the change.
