My odometer quit working but the speedometer is still working. I think it might be the instrument cluster. Can anyone confirm that?
While knowing what kind of vehicle is involve will help to confirm it, yes, this usually means a defective speedometer head. If it’s an old style odometer with number wheels (as opposed to an electronic display), this usually means a cracked gear. Pushing the reset for the trip odometer can cause this breakage.
I forgot to mention it’s a 97 mustang with the number wheels.
