03 Nissan Murano - 143,000 miles - day one - fuel pump goes - day three - car won’t start - jumped ok - battery check says battery is ok - day four car won’t start again -jumped ok - battery check says low - replaced battery with brand new one - day five car won’t start - jumped with effort - take it to a shop, they say it’s an alternator - replace alternator with alternator no. 1 which put out 17.3 volts - immediately replace alternator with alternator no. 2 - charging properly after install - day six - car won’t start - jumped with effort - day seven car won’t start - jumped with effort several times during the day until finally on day eight it wouldn’t jump anymore - had to remove battery, charge it for an hour then reinstall in order to get the car to the shop without incident. Mechanic says we left a car light on the whole time - I said “impossible” he charged it and brought it back to is saying that’s all he found wrong but alas on day nine - car won’t start. Please help.
There is most likely a parasitic current drain on the battery while the car is parked. Here is a link to site that covers this kind of problem.
