No heat in a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica

My 2004 Chrysler Pacifica has started to blow unheated air when I have the heat on. When I was driving at highway speed and had the defroster and leg warmer setting, I got heat, but sitting in front of my house listening to an an article on NPR and it was blowing cool (cold?) air. Thoughts and suggestions please.

Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

Check the coolant level.

If it’s low, it can cause a no-heat condition when idling.

If it’s low, there must also be a reason why.

No disrespect meant, as I’ve no doubt that I wouldn’t know where to begin trying to work in your field of expertise, but it might make more sense to just take it to a reputable owner-operated shop, describe your symptoms, and let them diagnose and repair it. The nature of your question makes me suspect that auto mechanics isn’t your aptitude.

Sounds like a low coolant or hvac vent door control problem. If you have a dash coolant temp gauge, is it reading the same as always?

Or you could try listing to a different station I suppose … lol …
