If it’s 96 or later and a MOPAR, look to the crank position sensor. That’s where the spark trigger is. The distributor has the cam position sensor and controls fuel. You may not get a code with the crank position sensor, just a no start.
1974 d 300 has 318 5.9l engine turns over fine, gets fuel, timming set at 0, at coil getting 4 volts with key in start position get 0 volts. and should be getting 12 correct
