The first time I ever saw one in person was at a Cars and Coffee near Dayton, Ohio last August. Second one at car show in Lakeland Florida. Apparently not just a “British” thing as the first owner was not a Brit, the second I didn’t meet so could be anyone.
They are more than 25 years old now so they can be imported into the US without meeting emissions or crash standards.
Kind of looks like a British and French committee contributed to the styling,
