Nissan is dropping the CVT tranny in their new 2022 Pathfinder and replacing it with a 9-speed automatic. I don’t know if they’ll be replacing the CVT in the Hybrid version. Very little about the Hybrid yet. In fact some sources say Nissan may drop the Pathfinder Hybrid - But I think that’s a mistake.

Maybe Nissan will replace the hybrid with an EV version of the Pathfinder. If the demise of the hybrid is a few years off, that might make sense.
My understanding is that they Hybrid pathfinder died due to low sales after a year or two on the market, better city mpg but overall no comparison to a Highlander Hybrid.
You spend $45k you expect good trans.
Nissan has had a lot of problems with their CVT. I thought they had fixed it by now.
