Never mind, this apparently is not a place to ask questions

I am trying to see if a 2011 mazda 6 headlight assembly will mount and connect to a 2010 mazda 6. I have looked online and found only a few answers that seem to contradict each other so I was hoping to get some clarification. Any help is appreciated.

If you phone (or visit) the parts department at a Mazda dealership, they should be able to give you the right answer.

Rock Auto shows two different part numbers for the 2010 and 2011 Mazda 6 headlight assemblies.

Call the dealers parts department, that’s what they do

You are way too kind doing homework for others.

OK, was just looking for some first hand experience because I found conflicting answers. Don’t worry though cause I will never visit this site again, Have the day you deserve. =)

We appreciate the “free” Christmas snark; it certainly makes the season brighter.

You’ll get a full refund on the “price” you paid for the advice here. Any day now.

Merry Christmas.

You guys would rather have people call you at work? Why not answer the question here, now, not days later?

And to think I thought that’s what parts department people do. Answer phones and questions. Silly me.

Did you provide your phone number? Wouldn’t it be easier to reply here?

If there is an appearance design change from 2010 to 2011 but with the same attachment points then of course there will be 2 different part numbers and even cross referencing may not show they fit, but just because there are 2 different part numbers does not mean they will not interchange, even the dealer parts department may not know the answer…

Prime example, the 3rd gen SR5’s have a smoked outline to them, but the higher trim levels have the chromed outline to them, different parts numbers, but people are putting the SR5 tail lights in the TRD’s because they just look better…
Same with seats, leather vs cloth have different part numbers, but they will interchange…

So instead of beating NEW members up over what you might think is a stupid question, how about maybe trying to help instead of trying to make them feel stupid…

This truly is a place that a new member doesn’t know if their question will be taken seriously or not and that they may be ridiculed over it… This is NOT a college alumni that a new member has to be hazed over to join, try something new and welcome them with an open mind before judging them…

You’re a real jerk PvtPublic.

My post was not singling any one person out (and there was more than one) and I was speaking in general about most NEW members and the way they are being treaded, yes at times I have been quilty of it also, but I am trying very hard not to…

Hi. Haven’t been around as much as I used to but hoping to be back more now.

Maybe Zak was trying to learn? Perhaps extend the benefit of the doubt.

People don’t stick around with this kind of introduction. And sticking around means more questions, and…you see where I’m going with it.

Happy everything to all who celebrate.

Doesn’t the title of the post set a negative tone to start things off?

Never mind, this apparently is not a place to ask questions

Sort of sets the tone for the comments that follow, does it not?

The Original Post was posted at 1:19 pm, it wasn’t until after the OP’s 2nd post or the OP’s 1st reply (post number 5) at 2:51pm that the Title was changed at 2:55pm to it’s current title… by then the damage was already done…

Pretty sure the OP edited the topic after the fact to reflect their frustration with the replies received. I tried to go back to a post I originated to see if I could edit the post topic line but this site is so messed up, I gave up trying…

Personally, I wouldn’t consider asking a parts dealer about interchangeability or other compatibility concerns unless I was going to be buying from them. If I was buying online and getting conflicting information from the sites selling them, this is exactly the type of venue I would be asking for advice from people who might have some experience about it. Then, I would just ignore the responses that told me to call parts houses and ask…

Of course, not I am not a Mazda parts department. Isn’t that the parts departments job to find what parts will fit your car.
