I have a 2002 Mitsubishi Mirage that seems to wobble (more like a lumpy wobble) on the front right side (tire/wheel?) when I’m driving slow–my husband only notices it when he hits the breaks.
In '06, we replaced the wheel bearings. And last year a loud roar slowly began to eminate from that side when driving at higher speeds (45+).
The tires look ok–no bulges.
We’re just trying to figure out what the source of the problem is before taking it to be repaired.
A slipped/broken belt in the right front tire caused a wobble at low speeds in my wife’s 98 Windstar. My mechanic spotted it right away but I couldn’t tell from looking at the tire. Is the tire pressure correct and the lug nuts tight?
A roaring noise similar to tire noise could be another bad front bearing. Are the wear patterns on the right front tire different from the left? Perhaps the wobble and the roaring noise are related.
