I am freaking out. The TCS light came on nearly 3 weeks after I changed the winter tires. I looked into my records and it says they put on 94H. In the door of my car the tire size is a 93V. Could this be why the TCS light came on, and do I need to get the correct size?
Did ou get 4 new tires or 2? If 2 and the rolling diameter of the two sizes differs more than 1/8 of an inch it can indeed set off your tcs light and possibly wear iut your all wheel drive systen.
I definitely got all 4. So them being 94H shouldn’t matter should it??
I think your TCS light is unrelated to the 4 new tires you purchased, at least not directly.
It’s possible the tire shop didn’t reset the tire pressure, or sometime along those lines.
Call the tire shop, get them to take another look. Calm down, have some more egg nog.
No, 93&94 indicate load carrying capacity, 94 has greater capacity.
V&H are the speed rating, H is 130 and V is 149 MPH.
Will have no effect on your Traction Control.
By any chance could you have hit the TCS button than turns the TCS off?
As suggested check your tire pressure.
If the light is still on, you will probably have to pay for a diagnosis, $150-200.
Car I recently got had rotated tires so rear readings were for front locations on tpms. I changed 2 tires and figured that out.
Purebred summed up the situation very well.
Unless the OP plans to drive faster than 130 mph, there is no problem whatsoever with the tires.
And, regarding the TCS, the OP first needs to check whether he/she might have accidentally deactivated it. If the TCS is actually turned-on, then diagnosis by a mechanic is necessary.
Do you have 16” or 17” wheels? The standard tire size for the 16” wheels is 215/60-16. I agree with the others. TCS has nothing to do with tire size.
You need to walk around the vehicle and look at the tire size of ALL 4 new tires, the shop may have accidently installed one tire a size off…
Examples, 3 are P215/60R16 and 1 is P215/65R16 or P205/60R16 ect ect…
EDIT: I just re-read the OP and this happened 3 weeks later, if it happened 3 weeks later then it is not tire related unless the highest to lowest tire air pressure is wayyy off…
Go to the auto parts store and have them scan the codes (all modules), post what you find…
