can you put a motor from a 98’ cutlass 3.1L v6 into a 94 grand am 3.1L v6? Also is there anything special you can warn me about?
I would not attempt this swap. The interchanges shown for your '94 Pontiac 3.1 L V-6 is a '94 or '95 from another Pontiac grand Prix or Grand Am, Chevy Lumina or Corsica, Buick Regal, Olds Achieva or Cutlass Supreme.
The biggest reason that the '98 engine is not an easy swap is that the '98 (actually '96 and up) use a completely different computer system. The newer engines are OBDII compliant. The earlier ones aren’t. If you changed the engine’s computer, then the other things governed by the computer would not function correctly. (Think transmission)
