No joke. Hunting is fine as long as the hunter eats the meat or makes sure it is eaten. Homeless kitchens are excellent places for excess meats. Are you a vegetarian? If not, you eat meat that you or someone else killed.

And I’m not an idiot, either . . . anybody with half a brain knows that eating meat means an animal was killed by another creature, in our case killed by a person.
