I have a 2008 Dodge Caliber, and mice keep ending up in my fan blower, which is located behind/under the passenger side glove compartment. It’s happened where I was parked, turned the car on, and heard a thump, to it suddenly thumping while I was driving. Each time I’ve immediately turned the fan off and taken the blower out to check, and there’s been a dead mouse in there. They are not babies, but large, fully grown mice.
We live in a rural area where mice are common, but this has not happened with any other car we’ve owned in the last 20 years, including our current Jeep. The Dodge is kept in a garage when it is at home, carefully sealed up, and we’ve put a ton of mouse traps out to try to keep the problem down. No dice.
So, oh mighty Car Talk Community – is there any way I can try to keep them out of my car?
Make sure your system is set to recirculate to keep intake closed when ever shutting car down…should help or at least slow them down.
