I recently replaced the battery in 2002 E320 Mercedes. Of course the dashboard clocks etc have to be re-set. Conincidently, the ABS (BAS) warning light on the information panel came on suggesting the car needs immediate service. Is this a result of the battery change out?? Is there a re-set on the ABS warning light?? There are no indication of brake issues when driving, nor was the warning on or the brakes not working prior to the battery issue.
Several things can be reset in a Mercedes Benz by turning on the car and turning the steering wheel full left, then full right, then full left. If this is one of those “several” things, the light may take a few hours to be reset. Another common issue for BAS is the brake light switch may need to be replaced (less then $50 P&L).
