The Detroit 3 automakers worked like that. The steel company I worked for had to sell wire rod to GM for valve stems at GMs predetermined price. I know this because I used to call on the plant that manufactured to valves with a salesman that told me that. I’m sure that this wasn’t the only product relationship treated that way.
