Lost keys and a different ignition switch

Hey I’m new here and I was wanting to get some help. I have a 1999 Nissan frontier which I bought about two years ago. The truck came with two different keys one for unlocking the doors and the other to turn on the ignition. Well I lost my keys and stupidly I had no replacements. I went to the dealership but the service guy said that most likely the key that they would make using the vin # was for the doors and that they ignition switch was not the original. So I don’t know what to do now should I call a locksmith or mechanic? What will he most likely say? Do I have to get a new ignition switch or is it possible that they will be able to make one?

It is possible a locksmith can pull the ignition lock get a code, and cut a key. It may not be much cheaper than getting a new ignition lock and keys It may be possible for a good locksmith to order an ignition switch that matches the door locks so you can go back to one key.
