I have a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee and my interior lights won’t go out when the thing is off. The door switches seem to work correctly-the computer isn’t displaying that they are open. It’s draining the battery on a daily basis. I’ve removed the fuse and the circuit breaker pertaining to the lights, and the battery still won’t hold a charge. The battery tested good 3 times from 3 different places. Diodes in the alternator could be bad but would that have any affect on the interior lights?? HELP!!
The alternator will not have any effect on the interior lights. What may be bad is the on/off switch for these or one of the door switches is bad and leaving the lights on.
If the battery is still going dead, how old is it? 3 or 4 years is all they will give without problems.
Did you check the switch that overides the door ajar switches and keeps the lights on it is part of the dash light reostat when turned all the way one direction it will overide the door ajars.just a thought
