Where to go to have the ignition lock changed? My key get getting stuck, made new key did not work at all… Most mechanics I talked to stated that they did not do this kind of work, should I go to a locksmith or a body shop? Any feedback would be great, and even better if you know someone in the Portland, OR who would do it …thanks!
I woud start with a local locksmith. BTW I doubt if the problem is the key. I suspect it is the lock. The lock could just be worn out.
If you have an automatic transmission, make sure it is not just the steering wheel holding the key. Try moving the wheel gently back and forth and see if the key is released.
The dealer can remove and replace the lock cylinder. I’m sure a lock smith can too.
