Is the dealership I'm working with BOOOOO-OOOO-GUS?

Honestly, I dunno why they hire real people, a chimp could be trained to act as a salesman. And probably do a better job at it too. :stuck_out_tongue:

I got a new email from a Toyota salesman in columbus that I had emailed a month or so ago.:

Hello All,

I know many of you have had several questions, and well, itā€™s finally here!!! The CARS government rebate system aka ā€œCash For Clunkersā€ has officially been rolled out to the dealerships. More details can be found at www.cashforclunkers.com. Here is the basics of the program:

You qualify if:
-Your vehicle gets 18 mpg or less combined fuel mileage based on the official government estimates
-Your vehicle must be 25 years old or less
-You have had the car continuously registered for atleast the past year
-You have kept insurance on the vehicle for at least the past year
-Your new vehicle gets atleast 4 mpg better than your clunker and must have an msrp of less than $45,000.

If you have any interest in capitalizing on this program and receiving the rebate of either $3500 or $4500, now is the time to act. Based on estimated interest in the program and funds alotted for it, we anticipate the program to be over in a matter of days. Now is the time to act.

To save you the most time and better ensure you get your transaction complete before the program runs out of funds, Please call me at (phone number omitted to protect the dealership). We can set up a convenient time for you to come down and finalize all details.

For further questions, please refer to www.cashforclunkers.com , or just simply call me at (phone number omitted to protect the dealership).

Hope to hear from you soon!

Thanks again

They sent me an email last week asking if I was still interested. I had emailed them a week or so prior when they emailed me the first time stating i was waiting for the 2010 models to come out. No follow up emails were received until today when I got this email I just posted

Bscar, Iā€™ll put that on my list of things to ask.

You guys are great! Iā€™m almost looking forward to my next shopping trip!

Naw, I donā€™t pick on them unless they try to snow me. If theyā€™re decent and respectful, we just talk. Iā€™m also honest with them up-front when Iā€™m just browsing out of curiosity, and if a real customer comes in Iā€™ll tell them to go ahead and help him/her, that Iā€™ll be fine. I donā€™t want some poor fella trying to earn a living spending a lot of time just satisfying my curiosities.

What the dealerships told you is interesting. I suppose it keeps the front-line people within the bounds of their functions.
