The clock in my 1999 Subaru Forester just started going out intermittently. It usually comes on when the car starts, and usually goes out at some point. Any clues to what’s making this happen?
I have found that one of the very first things that stops working on modern vehicle is the clock. It’s an afterthought to many car manufacturers so they don’t apply any engineering or money towards a good one. They could but they don’t.
This is a common issue with the Subaru clocks around those years and is easily fixed if you are handy with a soldering iron. Here is a link that shows you what to look for and how to fix the trouble.
